Blue Iguana Facts:
- Blue Iguanas are only found in the Cayman Islands
- From the nose-to-tail they measure 5ft. (1.5m) and weigh as much as 30lb. (14kg)
- They are mainly herbivorous–eating mostly leaves and stems, as well as fruits and flowers.
- With great vision they can detect shapes and motions at long distances.
- They live up to 70 years old!
- Blue Iguanas are the most endangered of the lizard family!
Cool Fact:
The nesting chamber is built by the Blue Iguana mother and is formed out of soil, which she digs 20 feet underground to lay her eggs.
