Supplies Needed:

• Paper Plate or you can use cardboard
• 2 empty toilet paper rolls
• Colored paper – red, yellow, orange
• (if you don’t have this, you can color the flames with markers or crayons)
• Aluminum foil
• Glue stick
• Scissors
• Download and print templates – wax & flames

Directions:

1. Using the empty toilet paper roll to measure, draw a circle in the middle of the plate. Cut the circle out so you’re left with a paper plate ring.
2. If you are using a normal paper plate-cut away the ridges of the plate so you are only using the inner part of the plate.
3. Next, place the toilet paper roll in the center and trace around the end. Cut and remove that inner piece.
4. Cut strips of aluminum foil from a roll. The length of a normal roll is fine. Place the strips through the hole and glue them over the paper plate ring.
5. Cut out the wax templates and glue it around the top edge of the toilet roll. Cut out the verse and glue that on the candle part of the roll.
6. Print (and color if needed) the flames using the red, yellow and orange colored paper. Cut them out and glue them to the inside of the toilet roll using the tabs available on the template. Stagger them and create a cool looking flame
7. Take the roll you just decorated and wedge it into the hole in the middle of the plate. Extend it a half inch and cut 4 flaps into the edge of the paper tube. Bend the flaps back and glue them to the plate.
8. Take your second toilet roll and cut an inch strip from the side of the tube-this will be your candle holder handle. Wrap that piece in more aluminum foil, curl it to match the finished image and then glue it to the base of the foil circle for a handle.
