A: Dear Debora,

While we are praying to God, Jesus presents our prayers to God with His own righteousness. He does this by guiding us in our prayers, and putting in our hearts the right attitude in prayer. We must remember that God the Father and Jesus are working together for our salvation. Jesus is not trying to convince His Father to accept our prayers, but working in cooperation with the Father to make our prayers acceptable. Jesus told his disciples “I do not say to you that I will ask the Father on your behalf; for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God” (John 16:26-27). So you need to know that God loves to hear and answer your prayers, because He loves you!

Thanks for writing, and remember, there’s never been a better time to share Jesus!

Your friend, Pastor Howard
